Early Preschool Program
Children 30 months and older showing developmental readiness (or slightly younger children showing developmental readiness) may be placed in the Early Preschool classrooms. This placement is made at the discretion of the Program Supervisor or the Director after careful evaluation of the children by their teacher and the Program Supervisor.
The Early Preschool curriculum is further expanded to meet the developmental needs of the children. The classroom is equipped with appropriate Montessori materials in all areas development. Learning areas include Practical life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Science, Botany, History, Art, music and Geography. The aims and the use of all the above materials and activities are described and explained fully during the school open house. Teachers are available before 9:00 am and after 4:30 pm or by appointment for further discussion of the materials, educational and developmental goals and each child’s specific needs and development.
In order to respect the children at “work” and their space, as well as provide them with an environment that supports uninterrupted work time, adults my visit by invitation only between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Part time schedules may be available in this classroom. All Early Preschoolers are required to be in class by not later than 9:30 am. We recommend that children arrive by no later than 9:15 am in order to provide them with reasonable amount of time to prepare themselves for group time that begins at 9:30 am.
